Innovative concrete: MIGROX Oulesse and BEGROX Oulesse

At KIBECO, we are making construction more environmentally friendly. Our MIGROX Oulesse and BEGROX Oulesse concretes stand for sustainable alternatives that are ecologically and functionally convincing.

MIGROX Oulesse is a cement-free lean concrete made from 100% recycled materials, in particular mixed demolition waste. This product offers an environmentally friendly alternative for applications such as clean layers, pipeline blocks and encasing concrete.

BEGROX Oulesse is a concrete granulate with the same application possibilities as MIGROX Oulesse. In addition, it is particularly suitable for lean concrete slabs with sealing film.

With MIGROX Oulesse and BEGROX Oulesse, we are demonstrating how the circular economy can succeed in the construction industry. By recycling demolition materials, resources are conserved, the circular economy is promoted and CO2 emissions are reduced by around 70% compared to conventional lean concrete made from cement.

More freedom for sustainable concrete: the ND annex makes it possible!

Sustainable construction requires innovative solutions - and this is precisely where the new national annex ND of SN EN 206 comes in. It allows more flexibility in concrete production and opens up new ways of using more environmentally friendly materials. A concrete according to annex ND is a concrete according to its properties - the decisive factor is what it can do, not what composition it has.

Annex ND is a door opener for more sustainability in the construction industry. We are ready - and you are?

KIBECO and Neustark

In a recent case study, Neustark shows how 75 tons of CO₂ were permanently saved by using its technology in a construction project in Zurich. KIBECO played a crucial role as we produced and supplied the 7,500m³ of carbonated recycled concrete for the project.

The case study not only explains the innovative construction method, but also how the climate benefits generated benefit the client, Bereuter Holding AG. An impressive example of sustainable construction and the circular economy.

KIBECO's contribution to the climate pathway

The new SIA 390/1:2025, which will apply from February 2025, sets out requirements for greenhouse gas balancing and climate-friendly construction, with the aim of the building sector achieving net zero emissions by 2050. This is achieved by taking a holistic view of the entire life cycle of a building - from material extraction to dismantling.

For the construction industry, the norm means an increased focus on alternative building materials, the reuse of materials and energy efficiency.

KIBECO is already actively pursuing these goals.

Concrete Award '25 - KIBECO in action

We are proud to report that KIBECO has been involved in two innovative projects as part of the BETONSUISSE Concrete Prize '25: the new construction of the second location of the Zeughaus medical center in Basel and the MANAL pavilion in Lucerne.

The Concrete Prize honors outstanding projects in the fields of building construction and infrastructure and recognizes buildings that impress with their innovative, sustainable and technically and creatively exceptional construction methods.

Our KIBECO concrete with 50% recycled aggregates was used on the Zeughaus site, permanently storing 15 tons of CO2. KIBECO made a significant contribution to the MANAL pavilion by supplying KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse, a cement-free, low-CO2 concrete, and KIBECO Cleancrete Nossim, a cast clay.

Both projects demonstrate the versatile application possibilities of concrete and illustrate how sustainable building materials can positively change the construction of the future. We look forward to all further projects in which we can implement innovative solutions.
