Crushing plant Athene

What does Athena, the main Greek goddess of wisdom, battle strategy, craftsmanship and art, have to do with mineral recycling at KIBAG RE?

After more than two years of planning and development, our crusher operator Michael Luginbühl was able to commission the new crushing plant named Athene in Regensdorf on 07.02.23 after a small baptism ceremony.

The new P 150 GIGA crushing plant from GIPO combines the wisdom of more than ten years of experience in recycling tasks in the field of mineral construction waste from KIBAG RE Regensdorf and over 40 years of technical expertise from GIPO in Seedorf.
With a length of 36 meters, the impressive height of 7 meters and a total weight of over 160 tons and more than 1000 horsepower, this machine, specially developed for KIBAG, defines a new battle strategy for the processing of concrete and mixed demolition waste. As one of the largest mobile crushing plants in Europe, it combines all the features of a modern gravel plant for the dry processing of mineral construction waste on tracks.

The GIPO P 150 GIGA is the first track-mounted plant of this size to master the task of removing impurities from excavated concrete and mixed rubble in a single pass, It then crushes the feed material and separates out foreign matter such as wood, plastic, iron and non-mineral components before the material is divided into up to three grain sizes by the downstream screening unit. The special feature of the new plant is that all feed materials are processed before the crushing process by the 3 meter long two-stage pre-screening unit, thus producing two different construction materials in one operation.

With this plant configuration, KIBAG's unique plant sets new standards in the field of performance and efficiency in mineral building material recycling and masters the art of producing high-quality recycled aggregates from construction waste for the concrete plants in Zurich.
