KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse – cement-free concrete

The cement-free concrete for a wide range of applications

Faced with ambitious climate targets, the construction industry is challenged to rethink its practices in order to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and the consumption of resources and energy. One promising approach is to replace conventional concrete with cement-free alternatives. In this context, KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse presents itself as a pioneering, cement-free solution for your construction project.

The binder used, which was developed in collaboration with the ETH start-up Oxara, consists mainly of ground demolition materials, which strengthens the material cycle.

This enables cement-free concrete with strengths of up to 25 MPa and high water resistance, which is ideal for a wide range of applications.

The normative basis is currently being developed and standardized. However, the KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse is already being used for projects today.

FAQ

Do you have any questions about KIBECO concrete? Perhaps you will already find the right answer in our FAQ.

What is KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse?

KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse is an innovative, cement-free concrete specially developed to reduce the environmental impact of construction. It offers a sustainable alternative to conventional concrete for a wide range of applications up to 25 MPa.

How does KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse differ from conventional concrete?

In contrast to conventional concrete, KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse contains no cement, which leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Despite the cement-free composition, a strength development is achieved that is comparable to that of conventional cement-bound concrete.

What are the environmental benefits of KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse?

KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse helps to reduce the CO2 footprint as it is produced without cement. This significantly reduces the environmental impact compared to conventional concrete.

For which applications is KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse suitable?

KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse is suitable for lean and draining concrete applications as well as structural concrete for indoor applications.

What does the cement-free binder Oxacrete Oulesse consist of?

The Oxacrete Oulesse binder is made up of two components. The first component is finely mixed demolition waste, which serves both as a filler and as an activatable substance. The second component is the activator, which consists of mineral salts.

How is KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse produced and used?

KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse is produced like conventional structural concrete in the concrete plant and delivered to the construction site with a truck mixer. It is placed in the formwork and cured as usual. No additional training is required for construction company workers.

Who is Oxara and what role does the company play in the development of KIBECO Cleancrete Oulesse?

Oxara is an innovative startup specializing in the development of sustainable building materials. In collaboration with KIBECO, Oxara has developed cement-free concretes such as KIBECO Cleancrete Nossim and Oulesse, which offer an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional concrete solutions and help to reduce CO2 emissions.

What is the background to the cooperation between Oxara, KIBAG and Holcim?

The strategic partnership between Oxara, KIBAG and Holcim aims to expand production and establish Oxacrete Oulesse® across the Swiss construction market. With a focus on resource efficiency and circular economy, the partnership will help reduce the environmental footprint of the construction industry and serve up to 10% of the Swiss concrete market.
