A few questions for Lorenz Häuselmann, Managing Director and owner of Salzmann AG Transporte - Part 1
How did the partnership with neustark come about?
The long-standing former director of arabern, Beat Ammann, approached me about the topic of carbonated concrete and asked whether we could imagine working together in this area. I responded with great interest and a resounding "Yes, I would love to".
What will the future look like in terms of sustainability in the construction industry, as well as in the transportation industry?
I am very confident that public pressure (from authorities and society) will remain high and increase in the near future to push ahead with the lowest possible CO2 processes and production methods.
To what extent will Salzmann AG Transporte integrate the topic of sustainability?
In 2023, our company will once again build a commercial hall made of wood and use concrete for the underground construction (parking garage, ramp access and floor slab of the first floor) using the neustark method, as one of the first buildings in the Bern area. This is a matter of course for us. We procured our first CNG-powered articulated lorry, which runs on 100% biogas, especially for the collaboration with neustark. In doing so, we are supporting neustark's approach and its customers. We are constantly informing ourselves about the technologically and economically possible and sensible alternative drives and have already tried out various of them (other CNG vehicles, BEV trucks, etc.). In 2023, we will receive another CNG semi-trailer truck for additional CO2 transports on behalf of neustark.
