KIBECO Talk 2024 Basel
Last Tuesday, the Volkshaus Basel once again opened its doors for our annual KIBECO Talk. After a cozy arrival with coffee and croissants, the morning started under the motto "Reduction with vision: norm revolution as the key to lower CO₂ emissions".
Prof. Barbara Sintzel, Head of the Institute for Sustainability in Construction at the FHNW Campus Muttenz, kicked things off with a short but important input presentation on the future of the construction industry.
Afterwards, our speakers Christian Herbst, Chairman of the UAG Annex ND Committee; Wolfram Kübler, Partner and Member of the Executive Board at WaltGalmarini AG; Martin Bodmer, Lead Commercial and Operation at Oxara and Mario Kapferer, Regional Manager East at SIKA Schweiz AG, gave short presentations providing valuable insights into their specialist knowledge and the potential that Annex ND offers for sustainable concrete construction.
The subsequent panel discussion, moderated by Karin Frei, was followed by a lively round of questions, in which the audience also actively participated. Despite some disagreements, everyone agreed that real progress can only be made through collaboration. "We can only make progress if we get all stakeholders on board and talk about the needs and challenges," was the conclusion of the discussion.
The successful morning was then concluded with a flying lunch, during which there was further exchange and networking.
