KIBECO Talk 2024: Wood and concrete - bridges between tradition and innovation
It's that time again: the KIBECO Talk is entering the next round under the motto "Wood and concrete - bridges between tradition and innovation"!
The last two editions of our KIBECO Talk in June 2022 and 2023 have shown that the desire to use sustainable and new building materials and to develop innovative building concepts is becoming increasingly important in the construction industry.
In our third KIBECO Talk, we therefore want to shed light on a long-known player: Wood. While it is often assumed that wood is the sole material for sustainable construction, we want to show the many ways in which concrete and wood can work together to create climate-friendly and ecologically responsible structures.
The use of concrete and wood in construction projects offers a multitude of benefits: Concrete is known for its strength, durability and fire resistance, while wood is a natural resource that is renewable, easy to work with and aesthetically pleasing. By combining these two materials, we can create innovative and sustainable buildings that meet the needs of today's society.
This year's KIBECO Talk emphasizes the collaboration between two different materials. Because wood, as a renewable raw material, and concrete, as a versatile building material, can work together to help create environmentally friendly buildings. The aim is to create a balanced exchange between the players.
